The paper presents measurements of wheel forces and moments acting on a landing gear wheel of a general aviation airplane, taxiing slowly on a grassy runway. A wheel dynamometer system based on strain gage sensor with a wireless data transferring system was installed on the PZL 104 Wilga 35A multipurpose aircraft. The aircraft was towed by a vehicle and the measurements were performed at three driving modes: free rolling, braking and turning. The paper contains results from the field measurements done on a grassy airfield of the Rzeszów Jasionka Aerodrome, Poland. Moreover, a machine learning model was developed based on the gathered data and this model gives results that are comparable to the experiment.
