Protein secondary structures are regular structural elements which are formed by hydrogen bonds between relatively small segments of the protein sequence. In this paper a fast learning neural network approach to protein secondary structure identification is presented. The identification is obtained by using an ad hoc neural network. Experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
