Rapidly and accurately detection of road surface traffic signs, and it be send to the driver in real time are not only can guarantee the safety of driving, but also to avoid the occurrence of traffic accidents. So, it is important to study the driving assistance system. In this paper, a detection method of road traffic sign based on inverse perspective transform was presented. The method handles the image acquired from camera, and the image was processed by the inverse perspective transform. It makes the original deformation of road traffic signs seriously to be corrected, and provides reliable data for the subsequent recognition of traffic signs. Experimental results show that this method was robust.
