With the global warming and environmental pollution becoming serious, the carbon emissions of the shipping industry have attracted more and more attention. Therefore, it is proposed to optimize the liner transportation network in the context of carbon neutrality. Taking the Yangtze River container liner transportation system as the research object, this paper proposes a multi-objective mixed 0–1 integer linear programming model for the optimal design of container liner transportation network, which takes into account the operator's income, carbon emissions and government subsidies. Furthermore, LINGO9.0 optimization software was applied for example demonstration to obtain the Yangtze River container liner transportation network from the perspective of low-carbon economy. The results indicate that the improved optimization model is clearly more in line with the requirements of low-carbon economic and social development, providing reasonable decision-making support for container liner transportation network design for liner companies.
