We describe a simple method for generating wavelength-tunable pulses at adjustable repetition rates by regenerative mode-locking with an all-optical approach. The optical modulation signal of a SOA is generated by optical injection to a Fabry-Perot laser diode. Output pulses up to 9 GHz are generated.
