Wireless power transfer (WPT) systems are utilized in numerous applications, including electric vehicle charging systems, where demands for high power, high efficiency, and high power factor are critical. This paper introduces a novel approach to WPT systems, targeting issues such as power factor distortion and high harmonic distortion. The proposed single-stage topology integrates AC-DC power factor correction (PFC) and DC-DC conversion, utilizing shared active power switches and controllers. This consolidation significantly reduces complexity, energy loss, and cost compared to conventional two-stage setups. The selection of suitable series-series (S-S) and series-parallel (S-P) resonant converter topologies plays a crucial role in efficient power transfer. The control strategy involves a duty cycle controller for continuous-conduction mode operation and a variable switching frequency controller to maintain a constant output voltage. Overall, the proposed approach significantly enhances system efficiency by minimizing power losses, marking a promising advancement in WPT technology.
