We describe an optical time-to-2-D-space-to-time-to-2-D-space conversion technique for ultrafast image acquisition, transmission and retrieval with ultra-short pulse laser. We show the proposed technique for ultrafast all-optical processors that can convert an input-2-D spatial object into modulated ultra-short optical pulse sequence, transmit it in an optical fibre communication system, and can retrieve the original 2-D images from the transmitted temporal signals.
