Total Transfer Capability (TTC) and Available Transfer Capability (ATC) are essential for evaluating the amount of secure power flow under N-1 contingency from the State Grid through Interstate Transmission system (ISTS) Network and inter-connection lines with the adjoining States. This paper prepares the contingency ranking of various 220/132 kV substations while computing TTC/ATC of real interconnected network by the PSS/E Software. Also suggest solution about which contingencies could be addressed with shifting the load to adjoining substations and by which actual strengthening of transmission network is required. This is essential to accommodate the increased demand in coming years with credible contingencies identified. Hence continuous supply is ensured by the Transmission Company for secure and reliable grid operation under N-1 contingency condition.
