The TCAS system uses a limited set of symbols to display adjacent aircraft. On the TCAS display an intruder aircraft is approaching at a 90-degree angle and intruder aircraft approaching at a 45-degree angle can produce the same display. This research investigates two methods to eliminate the ambiguity and provide better situational information to the pilots.
