Due to the increasing employees in corporations nowadays, the challenges concerning traffic congestion and environmental pollution are becoming more and more critical. Hence, a carpool connect application will be developed in this project, with the aim to connect the users with similar routes and promote carpooling in individual rides. Furthermore, this application will help in reducing the traffic, minimizing the emission of harmful gases, and lessening the stress of individuals on current transportation infrastructure. In this application, there are three main user roles, which the users can choose to be a driver or a passenger and the other role id admin, which will managed by the corporation. As a driver, the user can post a ride by entering the ride details, such as initial point, final point, date and time of departure, and number of empty seats. Besides, the driver can manage the ride request made by the passenger. On the other hand, as a rider, the user can search for relevant rides by entering search details such as starting point, destination, date of departure, number of seats needed, and the destination points. The rider can then make request on the preferable ride also he will be able to choose the best driver among the displayed drivers. In addition, when rider searches the ride, he can get the map view and view the estimated distance and duration. After the ride ends, both driver and passengers are required to rate on the ride experience. Furthermore, an in-app messaging features is also included to allow both drivers and passengers to communicate with each other. It also included with the real-time notifications through e-mail and high security payment gateway between rider and driver. In conclusion, this Carpool connect application addresses the challengers of traffic congestion and environmental pollution by promoting shared ride. The main features of this application include posting ride, searching ride, ride matching, user-feedback feature, and payment details feature. It ensures convenience, safety, reliability, and effective communication for both drivers and passengers. Location IQ API tool which is used for direction, forward and backward geocoding helps in real-time ride-sharing experience.
