In this paper, we propose a scheme to measure the gain of a global positioning system (GPS) receiver's antenna at the carrier frequency of 1575.42MHz and evaluate its measurement uncertainty. The proposed scheme is implemented in an anechoic chamber for obtaining a higher measurement precision. Regarding the uncertainty analysis, the primary effects such as the precision of measuring instrument, the mismatch of connection between transmitting antenna and signal generator, and the measurement environment are all considered and evaluated. The practical measurement results indicate a satisfactory performance on the uncertainty analysis of antenna gain measurement demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed antenna gain measurement method.
