The electric and hybrid aircraft (EHA) are becoming a reality at a very fast speed. At the same time, there are many problems that need to be resolved to progress successfully and affordably. The electric machines (EM) for advanced electric drives (AED) play a significant role in the modern aerospace/military industry. This is particularly true in electric aircraft, including electric and hybrid propulsion. A substantial demand has arisen for improved electric drive performance. Any systems offered as improvements must be more robust and must offer greatly reduced operating costs and safety compared to the existing hardware.
