This paper proposes an adaptive hysteresis sliding mode control method for double-switch buck-boost converter. First a hysteresis sliding mode current controller is applied to the converter such that the converter has a limited switching frequency; and second, adaptive control is adopted in order to enable the converter to work at a fixed switching frequency. The change of the switching frequency is eliminated by adaptive feedforward control and adaptive feedback control, respectively. As a result, the proposed control method provides excellent dynamic behavior for large signal, and simulation results clearly show that the converter has strong robustness and stability for large input voltage and load variations.
