•Proposed concepts allow a data rate of ∼2.8 Mbit/s per channel including protocol overhead, excluding forward error correction, assuming 3.2 bit/symbol on average •This fulfills the predicted throughput requirements •The synchronization symbol can be used to indicate position of RACH slot •A dynamic header concept can reduce the protocol overhead of a frame under certain circumstances •Here: (1 + 5) × 1.45MHz = 8.7MHz for 48UA •An alternative frame setup is presented in the paper, even more alternatives will be investigated, especially for the reverse link •Presented concepts will be evaluated in a flight campaign in June 2018.
