Off-highway has multiple products/ platforms which are used in different terrains like farmlands, turf, forest, construction sites etc. Electrification brings lot of opportunities to enhance productivity and uptime of off-highway equipment -the basic need of off-highway equipment owner and contractor. Currently, it is seen that majority design efforts are put in on-road electrification which has different design challenges and constraint compared to off-highway. With mentioned problem statement, this paper introduces off-highway applications and opportunities in electrification and challenges in design aspects such as performance, duty cycle, environment, component life and vehicle integration.
