A novel algorithm is developed to find optimal solutions of a bulk transportation problem with two criteria and two modes of transportation. The two criteria are total cost of transportation and total duration of transportation with cost being given the first priority. The set of Optimal solutions obtained gives more flexibility to the decision maker. Comparison with existing works show that the novel algorithm gives better solutions with respect to minimizing the duration of transportation, very useful in case of transporting perishable goods or during emergency situations such as war. The algorithm can also be applied to bi-criteria bulk transportation problems with 3 or more modes of transport.
