A new method using a thermal head (optical bandpass filter (OBF)) to improve and adjust the transmission band of a phase-shifted linearly chirped fiber Bragg grating is proposed and demonstrated. The transmission bandwidth can be tuned from 0.16 nm to 1.05 nm.
