Summary form only given. In conclusion, nonlinear frequency conversion of high power laser diodes has been used to generate radiation over a large wavelength range from deep-uv to mid-IR. Further improvements in output power and available wavelengths of high power laser diodes, as well as improvements in quasi phase matched (QPM) nonlinear materials, can be expected to increase the versatility and range of applications for this technique.
