U.S. airlines directly employ nearly 700,000 people. As we grow, so does demand in related industries such as research and development, manufacturing and tourism. In total, airlines help support more than 10 million jobs across America and $1.5 trillion in economic activity — or 5 cents of every dollar of U.S. GDP. Airlines for America (A4A) advocates on behalf of its members to shape crucial policies and measures that promote safety, security and a healthy U.S. airline industry. We work collaboratively with airlines, labor, Congress and the Administration and other groups to improve air travel for everyone and support advances in this indispensable network that drives our nation's economy and global competitiveness.
