The delivery of a first industrial prototype of a 170 GHz coaxial cavity gyrotron is expected in September 2006. RF tests with the gyrotron are foreseen to start in January 2007 when the superconducting (SC) magnet has been delivered. Experimental studies have been performed with a 170 GHz pre-prototype of the coaxial gyrotron in order to prove the design of main gyrotron components.
