Development of transmission involves generation of duty cycle, for bench level durability evaluation. For transmission RLD, vehicle is driven in various conditions for several hundred kilometers equipped with numerous sensors and design intended components. This paper provides the methodology to overcome these challenges by virtual RLD using simulation software like AVL Route studio and VSM. By giving vehicle parameters as input to the software, we can generate data with good accuracy for different routes and thereby reducing the development cost & time with less manpower. This has added advantage of eliminating fuel utilization (no carbon emission). This paper provides complete detail about development of vehicle model, GPS routes with speed limit, live traffic condition and driver aggression level to simulate exact conditions as that of real world. Methodology adopted in the paper can be used for all types of transmission with no restriction of geographical conditions and requirement of vehicle at early stage of transmission development.
