Because of the relative lack of domestic experience in the construction and operation of the airport rapid transit system ((APM)). Firstly, based on the characteristics of airport passenger flow, a method is proposed to predict the daily passenger flow of the airport according to the flight plan. Then the distribution characteristics of the "spinning cone" section of passenger flow in multi-terminal airports are analyzed, and the operation scheme of large and small intersections is put forward. Taking the enterprise operating cost and passenger travel cost as the objective function, considering the departure interval, train continuity conditions, and train capacity constraints, the APM optimal scheduling model is constructed, and an improved genetic algorithm is designed. Finally, an example study is carried out based on the APM of Atlanta International Airport, and the optimized operation plan reduces the operating cost of the enterprise by 6.28% and the total waiting time of passengers by 10.72%. The results show that the model and algorithm have certain reference value for the construction and operation of APM in our country.
