We demonstrate a photoconductive switch hybridly integrated with quantum-well self-electrooptic effect devices, capable of sampling input voltages with potentially >40-GHz bandwidth and performing differential linear electro-optic conversion at a rate /spl sim/1 gigasample/sec.
