At present, with the development of the penetration capability of Anti-Ship Missile (ASM), the warship's anti-missile defense capability has been greatly challenged. In this work, in order to analyze the defense capability of Close-In Weapon System (CIWS), based on the process of CIWS intercepting ASM, the interception probability of the CIWS to ASM is calculated, and the penetration probability model and damage model of ASM is established, which provides an important theoretical basis for naval to arrange weapons rationally and equipment on ships to improve defense capability. This work established a model to calculate the shooting error of projectiles from CIWS, selected the exponential damage model to analyze the damage assessment of ASM. After calculating the interception probability of subsonic and supersonic ASM at different distances, the different shooting schemes was compared. Finally, after analyzing the interception capabilities of different quantities of CIWS, some theoretical proposals for the CIWS installation scheme on the warship was brought up.
