In this paper, a novel cancellation scheme named superposition cancellation technique is proposed by using a superposition modulation technique for the single carrier fullduplex (FD) system. The proposed scheme utilizes the features that a single carrier with the Nyquist filter has no inter-symbol interference (ISI) and the phase-shift keying (PSK) modulation symbol has a constant amplitude to perform the self-interference (SI) cancellation. The proposed scheme can be applied in combination with other conventional cancellation schemes. This means that the cancellation requirement for the conventional cancellation schemes can be mitigated. From the feasibility study with theoretical evaluation and computer simulations, the proposed scheme achieves about 40 dB SI cancellation.
