This paper unveils the outcomes of a collaborative effort with the Port Authority of Valencia aimed at delineating a Port Sustainability Index congruent with the operational milieu of the Valenciaport community. The primary objective of this endeavor is to conduct an exhaustive review of the prevailing methodologies and models for assessing port performance through indicators, enabling the quantification of environmental performance to attain green and sustainable port status. Subsequently, a port sustain ability index is proffered, delineating the requisite information for its computation. The selection of variables is informed by the idiosyncrasies of the port community and the data availability furnished by its various stakeholders, including terminals, concessionaires, auxiliary entities, service providers, and the Port Authority of Valencia.
