In future, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) would occupy most of the space in the air. The challenge in front of us is to minimize the air traffic and collision free air transportation. Finding the best route between the UAV's source location and destination location is also crucial. Algorithms for path planning guarantee the best, collision-free route. A sequence of waypoints between source location and destination location is being produced by the various algorithms. The decision making is critical, especially for the moving vehicle. The decision dependency of the moving vehicle is much more than a stationary system. In this paper, a survey is done from basic navigation algorithms to advanced ones for both static and dynamic environments.
