According to the National Highway Safety Administration’s latest statistics, in 2020, 38,824 people died in motor vehicle traffic crashes. Driver’s behavior is a function of human, roadway, traffic, and environmental factors. This study explores various human and roadway factors attributing to driver’s behavioral and emotional responses by using a driving simulator and wearable devices. Specifically, we investigate the differences in physiological responses (electrodermal activity) during distracted driving while dual-tasking as compared to non-distracted single task driving condition.
