A switched reluctance motor with buffer of energy for the direct wheel's drive for multiple sectional city trams is offered in paper. Such motors will successfully compete with traction engine by satisfactory mechanical and control characteristics, higher index of reliability and less volume of active part. Recommendations based on the features of construction and on the theory of electromagnetic transformation of energy is a fundament of conducted calculation. The results of researches testify that it is possible to use these motors in the direct wheel's drive for tram.
