Traffic control system in roadways forms the important criteria in day-to-day life. However the Automated traffic control system forms better platform to eradicate traffic jams and congestion in roadways. The major disadvantage of the existing system isthat the people are not following the traffic rules. So this proposed system came in existence with some restrictions to follow the traffic rules. In this model the mechanical barrier is fixed at the junction and worked using microcontroller and timer. The mechanical barrier works with the help of servomotor. During emergency situation the RFID tag in the ambulance transmit the data to the RFID reader and feeds information to the microcontroller through zigbee. This can make better congestion free environment.
