Intelligent glasses technology is one of the representative technologies emerging in the field of artificial intelligence in recent years. Introduction of intelligent glasses system into aviation maintenance quality inspection can improve the efficiency of quality inspection and reduce the possibility of human errors. The architecture, functional modules, hardware solution, and human-machine interface of an intelligent glasses system are designed. An intelligent glasses system which is suitable for out-field quality inspection before aircraft release is developed. The data required for out-field intelligent quality inspection before release is collected taking an aircraft as an example. Recognition models for two quality inspection processes before aircraft release of the nose landing gear unlocking actuator and torque arm are trained and tested by the YOLOv4 algorithm in deep learning. The out-field trial shows that application of intelligent glasses system to the quality inspection before aircraft release can quickly identify maintenance quality, automatically store images, and reduce the possibility of human errors. So the feasibility and progressiveness of application of intelligent glasses system to aviation maintenance quality inspection is verified.
