In the speech signal, vowel onset point (VOP) represents the moment at which the vowel portion starts in a consonant vowel (CV) utterance. Energy content in the excitation source, energy levels of the vowels and the epoch location in a speech signal are the key points of VOP identification. In general, VOP plays an important role in speaker recognition, language identification and several speech processing tasks. In this paper I proposed a method which is stated as VOP detection using the energy content in the spectral peaks.
