Micro-ring and disk resonators side coupled to an optical signal bus may serve as channel dropping filters with sufficient free spectral range to cover the erbium amplifier bandwidth, (30 nm-50 nm). Singly and multiply coupled resonators are investigated analytically and numerically to determine their potential.
