We describe a single-frequency diode-pumped Yb:YAG laser that is tunable with an intracavity etalon. The twisted-mode technique was chosen to force single-frequency operation to allow insertion of the intracavity etalon for tuning. Tuning is of interest so that the second harmonic of such a laser could be tuned to an /sup 127/I/sub 2/ spectral line for long-term frequency stabilization.
