Optical switching networks that are capable of exchanging vast amount of informations are strongly needed for providing future B-ISDN services. But, optical switch should be implemented with the method which minimize complex hardware component and cost problem. In this work, we proposes an enhanced photonic ATM switch architecture with ultra large switching capacity, which includes advantages of AWG multiplexers and wavelength routers and ultrafast photonic TDM switches.
