Measuring the energy consumption of residential loads in near real-time is crucial for the successful implementation of various electric energy-related programs, such as demand response (DR) and vehicle-to-building (V2B). To measure and communicate this consumption information to decision-making units, a number of sensors and extensive in-home wiring must be installed. Consequently, various non-intrusive energy consumption measurement (NECM) strategies have gained popularity for monitoring residential loads. In line with this challenge, this pa-per explores the possibility of extending an integer-programming-based NECM technique to applications in residences with electric vehicles (EVs). The efficacy of the NECM technique is tested on a MATLAB platform using the REDD dataset and EVs with three different types of charging control mechanisms. The obtained results show that the NECM technique works well for two types of EV control and exhibits mixed performance for the third one.
