For urban traffic control, it’s always difficult to establish an accurate traffic mathematics model, and urban traffic flow has the characteristic of repeatability. In this paper, a kind of urban traffic control strategy based on model free adaptive iterative learning control (UTC-MFAILC) scheme is put forward. In the proposed control strategy, the traffic controller repeats the same control task in a finite time period for several times. For each repeated task, the traffic controller can learn from the previous execution to improve control performance using MFAILC scheme without using traffic mathematics model. Simulation study verifies the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.
