Foreign object debris in airport runway is an important factor affecting aircraft safety. Accurate and fast detect can effectively reduce aircraft accidents., protect passenger safety., reduce the cost in operation and maintenance. In this paper: First., the existing image difference detection algorithm is improved., and proposed an algorithm by using the characteristics of exponential function to split foreground and background in image., these two algorithms based on four-camera is realized to realize detect the foreign object debris; Second., combined the traditional perspective transformation and SIFT feature points are to achieve the alignment of the target area of the image; and proposed an algorithm of camera brightness adaptive to achieve better on image difference detection effect. The final experiment shows that the proposed algorithm and model can detect foreign object debris with diameters of 5 mm and above in airport pavements under different lighting environments (i.e., in cement pavement). The algorithm has good anti-interference ability and strong robustness.
