This paper presents a comprehensive simulation model of a DC traction system with vector control drive. The model of two substation rectifiers in one track section with the conventional two-level traction drive has been proposed which is according to the real situation. The traction motors and a detailed traction load are also included in the model. Analysis and conclusion of simulation results are given, which pointed out the accuracy of the proposed model for the traction load, drive, and train movement.
