Congestion control is an important research issue to ensure safe and reliable vehicle to vehicle communication by using the limited resource available in vehicular ad hoc network. It supports the communication of safe and unsafe messages among vehicles. The present work controls channel congestion dynamically by reducing the rate of transmission of messages among vehicles. The transmission rate of messages is reduced by allowing only the authentic vehicles to utilize the available resources in the network, by revoking the attackers and also by controlling the channel load dynamically. The performance of the proposed channel congestion control strategy is studied with and without the revocation of attackers.
