The Inertial Sensors and Systems Panel is a Technical Panel of the Aerospace Electronics Systems Society, IEEE. The Purpose of the Panel is to create standard terminology, specification formats, and test procedures for, and to promulgate understanding of, components for detection or measurement of linear or angular motion. The Panel is composed of respresentatives of industry, government laboratories, educational institutions and professional societies who are knowledgeable of the characteristics, operating principles, sources of error, and areas of application of these components. The Inertial Sensors and Systems Panel has been continuously active since 1962, and is still widely known by its original name, the Gyro and Accelerometer Panel.
