In this paper, I clarify the problems and issues of a highly automated glass-cockpit in terms of the pilots' situation awareness during their flight operations. Then some cases of CFIT (controlled flight into terrain) accidents of glass-cockpit airplanes would be reviewed, in order to analyze how the pilots fail in their situation awareness. Finally, countermeasures for preventing situation unawareness are discussed.
