Dynamic processes in the magnetosphere and ionosphere are accompanied by a variety of electromagnetic (EM) phenomena. It is proposed here to monitor these EM phenomena via a permanent longterm observation site onboard the International Space Station (ISS). This requires the design of appropriate instruments and devising an observation methodology. Electric and magnetic field measuring techniques onboard spacecraft were developed intensively in the early stages of space investigations. The important direction of the studies, conducted with the use of an infrastructure of Russian segment of the ISS (RS ISS), is obtaining the data about the power and the frequency spectra of electrical and magnetic fields and also currents in the near-surface zone of the ISS, which is been super-large body from the point of view of the processes of its interaction with the ionosphere medium.
