Upholding our commitment to bring fresh ideas and emerging technologies to our readers, the student research highlight was introduced in 2012 as a new type of feature article. These articles differ from our traditional articles as they are short highlights (no longer than two pages) that primarily focus on research performed by students pursuing an advanced degree. Student highlights not only allow our readers to see current research in universities, they also provide an opportunity for students to publish early in their career to a broad audience. Some example candidates for student highlights are the following: ▸ “Best Student Paper” award winners or finalists at an AESS sponsored conference ▸ students with relatively mature thesis/dissertation research
