Simple physical considerations lead to a switching power cell model valid for perturbation frequencies up to one-half of the switching frequency. The high-frequency model retains the topology and all inherent advantages of the previously introduced general low-frequency model. The procedure of obtention of the model parameters is outlined and the model predictions are compared with the measurement of a constant-frequency buck cell in heavy mode and with duty ratio as controlled quantity.
