Airport hubs, as important nodes connecting landside and airside transportation, offer the possibility of achieving an airport-centered economic zone. However, the rapid growth of the airline industry has constantly placed greater demands on the landside transportation organization. Using Beijing Daxing International Airport (BDIA) as an example, this paper presents an ex-ante study on multi-modal transportation resource allocation in the airport hub from the standpoint of optimizing the landside traffic structure by using microscopic simulation to replicate the interchange process of passengers choosing different transportation modes. The simulation model can be used to simulate the trajectories and behavioral changes of transfer-ring passengers before and after the allocation, and it can be used to derive four indicators that are set to describe the interchange comfort of passengers and the hub’s service level. The supply-demand relationship of the BDIA landside transportation hub will be analyzed and improved in 2025, and the values of each indicator will be controlled within the targeted range through resource reallocation and facility adjustments to meet passengers’ basic needs.
