To verify the amplitude of vibration signals generated by partial discharge defect faults can be used to determine the occurrence of discharge type defect faults, the experiment conducted four types of defect fault research experiments on the GIS partial discharge simulation testing device. Five conditions include normal operating conditions, suspended discharge, air gap discharge, tip discharge, and surface discharge were studied. The research results indicate that with discharge defect fault occurs, the vibration signal frequency is mainly concentrated in the mid to high frequency range of around $100 \mathrm{~Hz}, 300 \mathrm{~Hz}$, and 2000 Hz. Meanwhile, the captured normal vibration signal almost does not contain the frequency components of the above frequency range. This difference also provides a reasonable reference and basis for judging the occurrence of defect faults. The experiment results confirm that vibration detection technology can be used to determine the occurrence of partial discharge, with convenient operation, intuitive analysis, and effective judgment, providing a reference for GIS defect fault diagnosis and status detection.
