We have investigated crosstalk among VCSELs in a VCSEL PIE array at high frequency. In the array, the adjacent VCSELs showed the largest crosstalk, which was less than -40 dB up to 3.0 GHz when both VCSELs were biased at 5.0 mA. This result shows that the VCSEL PIE array can be a real solution to increase data capacity in short-haul data communications. Increasing bias current of both input-side and output-side VCSELs results in further reduction of crosstalk.
