Ad hoc networks for vehicles are increasingly becoming a fruitful subject for transportation research. VANET makes it possible for many vehicles to communicate because it has its own set up and framework for efficient data delivery services. Data cannot be transmitted between automobiles with a modification in their configurations due to their rapid mobility. In contrast hand, the faultless characteristics of vanet routing algorithms provide adequate connectivity for reliable and efficient data transmission in busy environments. This survey article opens with a discussion of traffic congestion and efforts to make a smart urban smarter by broadcasting information to adjacent cars. Then, when traffic is heavy, we concentrate on several strategies using different routing protocols at junctions and traffic signals. Additionally, it illustrates the idea and routing system used in the region.
