A compact electronically scanned array is described that provides full hemispherical coverage with both left hand (LH) and right hand circular polarization (RHCP). By means of unique surface acoustic wave devices and variable power combiners, the microprocessor controlled, autonomous antenna tracked and received telemetry data from four submarine launched Trident missiles. Almost identical performance has been measured for both LHCP and RHCP from the same helical antenna.<>
